Finally, Sydney Sweeney has addressed the longtime rumor surfacing across the internet. Sweeney clarified that the rumors about her relationship with Glen Powell are not true.
Sweeney and Powell recently starred in Sony’s rom-com ‘Anyone But You‘. During filming, many videos from the set revealed a secret relationship between them, despite both having partners. Due to these rumors, Powell’s girlfriend, Gigi Paris, whom he dated for over three years before their breakup in April 2023, was affected. In December 2023, Powell clarified during his Bustle interview that he is single and not using any dating apps.
Sydney Sweeney Clarified Her Relationship with Glen Powell
During Saturday Night Live (SNL), Sweeney addressed the affair rumors with Powell in her SNL monologue, and to everyone’s surprise, he made a cameo appearance as her “fiancé.”
Sweeney said, “I’d say the craziest rumor I’ve seen is that while I was filming ‘Anyone But You,’ I was having an affair with my co-star Glenn Powell. That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiance produced a movie together, and he was there the entire time, I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams, and we’re still together and stronger than ever.”
“He even came here tonight to support me. Can we, uh, cut to him? Yeah, know that’s not my fi. He’s in my dressing room, but we’ve got a great show for you tonight, Casey must Graves and SK, so stick around and we’ll be right back.”
Recently, at the 2024 SAG Awards, Powell revealed to Variety that he and Sweeney have been reading scripts together, in search of their next project.
Powell said, “Sydney reads everything, by the way, and in record time. She’s the fastest reader I think I’ve ever met. It takes me a little longer, but we’re reading everything and just trying to see what makes sense, what we can turn into something that audiences are going to respond to.”
