T.J. Miller, who appeared in Deadpool 1 and 2 as Weasel, revealed that Ryan Reynolds has a “really good” idea for Deadpool 4 and teased Weasel’s possible return. Miller skipped Deadpool & Wolverine after past issues with Reynolds.
Speaking on the 101 WRIF Detroit podcast, Miller said the door is still open for him to return as Weasel in a future Deadpool movie. He also revealed that he recently spoke with Ryan Reynolds about the future of the franchise.

He said Reynolds has a “really good” and “very smart” idea for the next Deadpool film.
According to Miller, the concept for Deadpool 4 is very different—even more unique than Deadpool & Wolverine. He called Reynolds a “powerhouse” in comedy and said he’s one of the funniest actors he knows.
Miller said, “He [Ryan Reynolds] mentioned that the next Deadpool will be very different. I will also say that his idea for the next Deadpool film is really good. It’s really smart. He told me the idea, and I kind of got hair on the back of my neck standing up because I thought you couldn’t do something even more different than Deadpool & Wolverine. But I think he has.”
Miller added, “I think it’s in the chamber, though I don’t know when it’s necessarily going to happen because he has a couple of other projects going on. I’ve always liked him and always thought he’s the funniest.”
He continued, “Ryan is really a powerhouse in terms of the comedy and, you know, and specifically Deadpool. So I, and he’s, he’s come to be a real friend and he’s kind of had our back, and I’ve tried to have his cause it’s, I mean, the internet is just such an evil, cruel place. You know, it’s just, it doesn’t make, it’s so, so despicable.”
Recently, PUCK reported that Ryan Reynolds is focused on developing the next Deadpool movie.
It was also reported that Reynolds is set to reprise his role as Wade Wilson in Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
