The release date for Taika Waititi’s ‘Next Goal Wins‘ on DVD and VOD has been revealed.

‘Next Goal Wins’ will be available for purchase or rental on digital HD platforms like Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV starting January 16, 2024.

Directed by Waititi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Iain Morris, ‘Next Goal Wins’ is based on the 2014 documentary of the same name by Mike Brett and Steve Jamison. The film follows the infamously terrible American Samoa soccer team, known for a brutal 2001 FIFA match they lost 31-0. With the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers approaching, the team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender) hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team around in this humorous and heartfelt underdog story.

The film also stars Oscar Kightley as Tavita, Kaimana as Jaiyah Saelua, David Fane as Ace, Rachel House as Ruth, Beulah Koale as Daru Taumua, Will Arnett as Alex Magnussen, Elisabeth Moss as Gail, Uli Latukefu as Nicky Salapu, Chris Alosio as Jonah, Lehi Makisi Falepapalangi as Pisa, Semu Filipo as Rambo, Ioane Goodhue as Smiley, Rhys Darby as Rhys Marlin, Angus Sampson as Angus Bendleton, Luke Hemsworth as Keith, Kaitlyn Dever as Nicole, and Hio Pelesasa as Samson.
