Taylor Swift Is Developing An Intimate Film
According to Puck, Swift developed a good relationship with Searchlight president David Greenbaum while her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, was shooting The Favourite, the 2018 Oscar winner. According to Searchlight Insider, the plot details of the upcoming Swift’s directional debut is unknown but he confirmed that the script is a subject matter intimate and also the budget is small. He said, “While I don’t have details on the script, which Swift wrote herself, I know the budget is small and the subject matter intimate; this is not a Nightmare Alley-style production.”
When debuting an Oscar contender for “All Too Well: The Short Film” at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival, Swift said, “It would be so fantastic to write and direct something.” She directed the 15-minute “All Too Well” film, an adaptation of her 2012 track that coincided with the re-recorded “Red (Taylor’s Version),” as well as recently helmed the Cinderella-inspired “Bejeweled” music video featuring Oscar winner Laura Dern and HAIM.
In a statement, Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield told “Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”
