Who Is Ladon In DC Comics?
In DC Comics, Ladon is a monster that appears in Greek mythology, specifically in the story of Hercules and the Twelve Labors. According to the myth, Ladon is a dragon-like creature with multiple heads, although the exact number of heads varies in different versions of the story. Ladon is famous for guarding the golden apples in the garden of the Hesperides. These apples were a gift from the goddess Gaia to Hera, the queen of the gods, and were believed to grant immortality to whoever ate them.
In an interview with Empire Magazine, director David F. Sandberg said that in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, they have created gods and monsters unlike any in any DC movies. Sandberg said, “It was in creating the monsters of the “god realm” that horror-lover Sandberg could really indulge himself. We have this dragon that’s sort of made of wood and emanates a fear effect, and a tree of life, a minotaur. a manticore… It was really cool diving into mythology, rather than comic books.”
Directed by David F. Sandberg, the film will star Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Adam Brody as Superhero Freddy, Rachel Zegler as Anthea, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Ross Butler as Superhero Eugene, Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña, D.J. Cotrona as Superhero Pedro, Grace Caroline Currey as Mary Bromfield, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Meagan Good as Superhero Darla, with Lucy Liu as Kalypso, with Djimon Hounsou as Shazam, and Helen Mirren as Hespera.
