First Reaction: The Flash Takes Cannes 2023
According to reviews, “The film was a treat, a great moment, and the character was very endearing and touching. I loved it! I found the innovative scenes with particular special effects to be really interesting.“
The film’s plot is based on the comic book storyline “Flashpoint,” and it follows: Worlds collide when the Flash uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past. However, when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, he becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation. With no other superheroes to turn to, the Flash looks to coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian—albeit not the one he’s looking for.
Directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Christina Hodson, the film stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, alongside Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton.
Produced by DC Studios, Double Dream, and the Disco Factory, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures. The Flash hits theaters on June 16, 2023.
