‘The Idol‘ Episode 5, titled “Jocelyn Forever,” is now available on Max. It is the final episode of season 1 and is considered the best among all previous episodes. In this episode, Jocelyn (played by Lily-Rose Depp) becomes a world-famous idol. The one-hour-long episode is filled with thrilling music, threats, jealousy, and power.
The episode begins with Jocelyn singing a wonderful song, and her producers are coming to see her performance. When the producers arrive, Tedros (played by Abel Tesfaye) and his group welcome them and impress them. Meanwhile, Leia (played by Rachel Sennott) discovers that Jocelyn’s ex-boyfriend Rob (played by Karl Glusman) is in trouble due to an incident from episode 4. Rob is facing allegations of rape and is about to lose his entire career because Jocelyn didn’t answer his call. Leia tries to tell Jocelyn about this, but she is unable to speak with Jocelyn because Tedros’ group is not letting her.
The producers eventually learn about Rob’s situation, and Jocelyn finds out that Tedros is responsible. She confronts Tedros, calling him a jealous man and telling him to leave her house. However, Tedros refuses and smiles. Jocelyn then asks Chaim (played by Hank Azaria) to handle Tedros and resolve the situation. Chaim shares a stunning and threatening hunter story with Tedros. He offers Tedros $500K to stay out of Jocelyn’s life, but Tedros refuses to accept it.
Dyanne’s (played by Jennie Ruby Jane) producers discover that she has taken Jocelyn’s record deal to her own label. They inform her that she needs to write a song on her own, and they will consider it.
In the end, Jocelyn becomes the biggest idol with multiple hit tracks, gaining worldwide recognition and a prestigious platform to showcase her talent. She is surrounded by tight security, and Tedros tries to reach out to her. Eventually, they reconnect and fall in love once again. During a stage appearance, Jocelyn surprises her producers by calling out Tedros and giving him credit for her success.
Overall, considering Season 1, HBO might not need to renew the show. Jocelyn’s story seems complete, leaving little room for further development. We rate Episode 5 with ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
