New cast members have been added for HBO’s ‘The Last of Us‘ Season 2, which is currently in production.
According to Deadline, Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick), Ariela Barer (How To Blow Up a Pipeline), Tati Gabrielle (You), and Spencer Lord (Riverdale) are the new additions to Season 2.

Ramirez is set to play Manny Alvarez. He is a member of the WLF (Washington Liberation Front), a militaristic group fighting for control of Seattle. He is also a close friend of Abby.
Barer to play Mel, who is another member of the WLF and is also a medic. She is in a relationship with Owen and is pregnant with his child. Mel is trying to keep the peace within the group.
Gabrielle will play Nora Harris, a member of the WLF who serves as a soldier. She has a major role in Ellie’s quest for revenge. Nora is depicted as tough and loyal to her faction.
Lord plays Owen Moore, a former member of the Fireflies, a rebel group opposing the oppressive regime of the military. He later joins the WLF. Owen is Ellie’s love interest and has a complicated relationship with Abby.
In Season 2, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will return to their roles as Joel Miller and Ellie Williams. Recently, Kaitlyn Dever was cast as Abby Anderson, Isabela Merced will play Dina, Catherine O’Hara, and Young Mazino has been cast as Jesse.
Recently, Craig Mazin confirmed that ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 will be divided into two seasons. He said, “The show won’t conclude with Season 2 unless viewers don’t watch it and it gets canceled.”
The filming has begun in Vancouver, BC, Canada, with filming expected to wrap on September 9, 2024.
Based on the 2013 video game of the same name, developed by Naughty Dog, the series follows Joel (Pascal), a smuggler tasked with escorting Ellie (Ramsey), a teenage girl, across the post-apocalyptic United States, and Joel’s younger brother and former militiaman, Tommy (Gabriel Luna). Along the way, they encounter fellow survivors, cutthroat bandits, and monstrous clickers who have become so infected by the disease that fungi sprout from their bodies. Created and written by Mazin and Druckmann for HBO.
‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 is confirmed to consist of 7 episodes and will premiere on HBO in early 2025.
