‘The Marvels‘ is currently in theaters, and we’d like to talk about the plot elements that were cut from the film. According to Twitter scooper @CanWeGetToast, some important scenes have been revealed.
Cut Plot Elements from ‘The Marvels’
- Kamala Khan couldn’t remove her bangle and faced imprisonment/torture by Dar-Benn.
- Captain Marvel and Valkyrie explicitly together in the past; a cut quote suggested they work better as friends.
- Prince Yan was meant to gift each of The Marvels with new suits before assembling his army. Monica initially had comic-accurate wings but later tore them off.
- Kamala’s new suit was initially designed to transform into a space suit, intended for joining Carol and Monica in closing a rip in space-time together.
‘The Marvels’ has earned $161.3 million globally, and it’s expected to conclude its theatrical run at $210-240 million. With a budget of $270 million, this might make it the lowest-grossing MCU movie.
Directed by Nia DaCosta. The film stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Park Seo-joon, Zawe Ashton, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur. The film also brings back Goose, the Flerken.
In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels.”
