The Matrix Resurrections is directed by Lana Wachowski and produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is the fourth installment in The Matrix franchise and serves as a continuation of the original trilogy.
The film stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in lead roles. The story follows Neo and Trinity as they awaken to a new reality and join forces with a young man named Bugs to fight against new threats in a dangerous and ever-changing world.
The Matrix Resurrections was released in theaters and on HBO Max on December 22, 2021, and received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Some praised the film’s visuals and action sequences, while others criticized its convoluted plot and lack of originality. However, it has still managed to become a commercial success, grossing over $277 million worldwide as of February 2022.
