‘The Odyssey’ VOD and DVD Release Date Revealed

The VOD and DVD release date for Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey has been revealed.

After debuting in theaters on July 17, The Odyssey quickly became a major box office success. The Homer-inspired fantasy film is now second only to Spider-Man: Brand New Day among the year’s biggest hits and has crossed $1.35 billion worldwide, beating Deadpool & Wolverine‘s $1.338 billion record for an R-rated film.

The film will be available to buy or rent on Digital HD platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies, on November 17, 2026, exactly four months after it debuted in theaters. The DVD and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray will also arrive on the same day.

According to Blu-ray.com, the film is listed as a two-disc set, while the 4K edition will include three discs. The special features, behind-the-scenes content, and director’s commentary have not yet been revealed. Also, the physical edition of the movie will reportedly not be released in its original IMAX aspect ratio.

The Odyssey has scored a 94% critics score and a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, an 8.5/10 on IMDb, and received an A CinemaScore.

The Odyssey is written and directed by Nolan, who also produced the film alongside his wife, Emma Thomas. Based on Homer’s classic Greek epic poem, the story follows Odysseus (Matt Damon), the King of Ithaca, as he embarks on a dangerous journey home after the Trojan War while facing mythical creatures in an attempt to reunite with his wife, Penelope (Anne Hathaway).

Set after the 10-year Trojan War, The Odyssey follows Odysseus (Matt Damon) as he tries to return home to Ithaca. His journey takes almost as long as the war itself. Christopher Nolan tells the story through a bard (Travis Scott) and Odysseus, who looks back on everything that happened during his voyage home.

The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, the legendary King of Ithaca, alongside Tom Holland as his son Telemachus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Robert Pattinson as Antinous, Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra, Samantha Morton as Circe, John Leguizamo as Eumaeus, Zendaya as Athena, Charlize Theron as Calypso, Jon Bernthal as Menelaus, Himesh Patel as Eurylochus, Bill Irwin as the on-set performer for Polyphemus, Elliot Page as Sinon, and Benny Safdie as Agamemnon.

The Odyssey was released theatrically by Universal Pictures on July 17 in the United States and the United Kingdom.
