Tom Holland (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Uncharted) has recently joined the cast of Christopher Nolan‘s next movie alongside Matt Damon, as confirmed by THR.
The plot of the Universal Pictures-produced film is rumored to be a period horror story about vampires—set in the 1920s.
Another rumor involves the NYPD Aviation Unit. This film is said to be a New York-based futuristic action story about a helicopter pilot cop who heads up the Aviation Unit in the U.S., focusing on the creation of a highly advanced—yet dangerous—helicopter that is being pursued by terrorists. Instead of circulating a screenplay to key personnel, Nolan has ensured they each received high-quality versions of the 1983 movie Blue Thunder—which starred Roy Scheider and was directed by John Badham—along with various written materials related to that film.
Filming is expected to begin in early 2025. Nolan will produce alongside his producing partner and wife, Emma Thomas, under their Syncopy banner.
Nolan’s Oppenheimer was released in theaters on July 21, 2023, and became a huge success, grossing over $942 million worldwide. According to a Forbes report, Christopher Nolan made a deal with Universal in which he received 15% of the movie’s earnings from the start, even before the studio covered its costs. He earned $72 million.
The untitled movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2026, and will be distributed by Universal Pictures.
