Tom Holland and Zendaya have read the final draft of Sony/Marvel’s Spider-Man 4. He confirmed that the film will be a “real movie worthy of fans’ respect.”
In a recent episode of the Rich Roll Podcast, Holland shared his thoughts on reading the latest draft of Spider-Man 4. He revealed that about three weeks ago, he read the final draft with his co-star Zendaya, and believes it to be “worthy of fan respect.”
Holland said, “We have a creative pitch and a draft, which is excellent. It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job.” Holland added, “I read it 3 weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I read it together, and at times we were bouncing around the living room, like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of fans’ respect.'”
Tom Holland Aims to Introduce Miles Morales to the MCU
Also, Holland wants to help bring Miles Morales to the MCU:
“I’d love to do for a young kid what Robert Downey Jr. did for me.”
Filming for Spider-Man 4 is set to begin on May 25, 2025, in the U.K. and is expected to wrap in October. Additionally, Holland will complete his scenes for Avengers: Doomsday before starting production on Spider-Man 4.
The script is penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton on board to direct.
Recently, the Cosmic Circus report revealed Holland’s Spider-Man will—most likely—obtain the symbiote suit in future films. There are also rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield may return—with more significant roles—given the Multiverse Saga. Spider-Man 4 will reportedly be set in New York City, but the story is expected to shift toward cosmic elements, moving away from the street-level focus of previous films. Venom and other symbiotes are rumored to appear as potential antagonists, though Holland is not expected to show up in Venom 3. Also, Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will have a role in the film.
Produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, and Avi Arad.
Spider-Man 4 is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2026.
