Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man 4 has received a production start date.
According to insider Daniel Richtman in his latest Patreon post, filming is set to begin on May 25, 2025, in the U.K. and is expected to wrap in October. Also, Holland will complete his scenes for Avengers: Doomsday before beginning filming for Spider-Man 4.
The recent contract between Marvel Studios and Sony has confirmed Holland reprising his role as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in three more solo films (Spider-Man 4-6) and three additional MCU films, including Avengers: Secret Wars and two others. Sony is trying to bring back Zendaya, while Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds will not be returning.
Recently, the Cosmic Circus report revealed Holland’s Spider-Man will—most likely—obtain the symbiote suit in future films. There are also rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield may return—with more significant roles—given the Multiverse Saga.
Spider-Man 4 will reportedly be set in New York City, but the story is expected to shift toward cosmic elements, moving away from the street-level focus of previous films. Venom and other symbiotes are rumored to appear as potential antagonists, though Tom Holland is not expected to show up in Venom 3. Also, Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom will have a role in the film.
The script is penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton on board to direct.
The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, and Avi Arad.
Spider-Man 4 is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2026.
