The main villain for Spider-Man 4 has not yet been confirmed, with rumors about Knull, Mephisto, or Doctor Doom, though they are not expected to be a “street-level” threat. Additionally, a new character with a whip will also appear in the movie.
Industry insider Daniel Richtman recently revealed that Spider-Man 4 will reportedly feature a new supporting cast. The film is said to introduce a fresh take on the character and a new direction under Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton.
We previously reported that Spider-Man 4 will introduce a new female love interest for Peter Parker. Zendaya’s role as Michelle “MJ” Jones will be limited to a brief cameo due to her scheduling conflicts with other projects. Additionally, Black Cat is a potential choice, but the official casting will be announced soon.
The filming is scheduled to begin in June 2025 in the United Kingdom and is expected to wrap in October 2025. The script is reportedly still undergoing rewrites by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers following the weak structure of the early draft. The film now has a production budget of $200 million.
Directed by Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by McKenna and Sommers, it will be the fourth installment of the Spider-Man series.
The film will be produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man 4 will hit in theaters on July 24, 2026.
