Troy Baker is playing a leading role in Naughty Dog’s upcoming, unannounced game, with Neil Druckmann, known for his work on Uncharted and The Last of Us, directing the project.
The game is being developed by Sony-owned studio Naughty Dog.
According to GQ, Baker has signed on to appear in the upcoming single-player game. Baker and Druckmann have a long history of collaboration—having worked closely together over the years. Their partnership continues as they join forces for this untitled new game from Naughty Dog.
GQ reported that Druckmann said, “In a heartbeat, I would always work with Troy.”
Last December, Naughty Dog canceled The Last of Us Online, a project to create a live-service version of the game. The studio stated that it would have needed to focus all its resources on post-launch content, which would have impacted its ability to develop future single-player games. Additionally, Naughty Dog confirmed that it is working on more than one new single-player game, but did not share any details.
Baker will star as Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle by MachineGames, and he will also appear in Judas, a game by Ken Levine. Baker previously played Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite.
HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 will premiere in spring 2025.
