The production of ‘Venom 3‘ paused due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, and Sony hinted at Topher Grace’s Venom from Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man 3’ possibly joining, hinting at a multiverse storyline. Filming for ‘Venom 3’ started in Cartagena, Spain, in June 2023, and a leaked video showed Tom Hardy in Los Mateos during filming.

Directed by Kelly Marcel and co-written with Tom Hardy, this film serves as a sequel to both “Venom” and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage.” The main cast includes Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Juno Temple, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, with additional cast members to be announced in the near future.
The plot of the film revolves around Venom and Toxin, who find themselves being pursued by the government. In order to combat the Xenophage, a genetically engineered symbiote killer that has gone rogue, Venom and Toxin are forced to unite and fight together.
Produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, Marcel, and Hardy. The film is part of Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man cinematic universe, which is separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which focuses on characters such as Spider-Man.
Venom 3 will hit theaters on July 12, 2024, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
