Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin in the MCU, has hinted that Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again series may adapt the Devil’s Reign comic storyline.
During a panel at Dragon Con, Vincent D’Onofrio was asked by Popverse about playing Kingpin in an adaptation of Devil’s Reign—a storyline where Kingpin becomes mayor and targets street-level heroes. While D’Onofrio didn’t confirm the adaptation, his response hinted that it could be in the works.
D’Onofrio replied, “That’s a very interesting question”—and added—”I cannot answer that because we have a new season coming out of Daredevil.”
To clarify further, D’Onofrio added, “I’m sure you get it. Otherwise, I would just flap my lips for the next thirty minutes and it would be so much fun, but that’s not happening.”
Daredevil: Born Again was co-directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, with Dario Scardapane serving as the showrunner, replacing Matt Corman and Chris Ord.
According to the show’s new plot, Marvel Studios presents Daredevil: Born Again, in which longtime rivals Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) attempt to leave behind their darker alter egos to serve the people of New York, only to have their pasts catch up with them.
The new cast for Daredevil: Born Again includes Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn and Nikki M. James as Kristen McDuffie, both of whom were love interests of Murdock in Marvel Comics. Also, Michael Gandolfini will portray Daniel Blade, Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman, Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, and Genneya Walton as BB Urich.
Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025. Also, Season 1, Part 2 is scheduled to begin filming in November 2024.
