Netflix revealed the trailer for the animated film ‘Nimona,’ about a mischievous shapeshifter.
In the film, a knight-in-training named Ballister Boldheart (Riz Ahmed) is framed for a crime and meets Nimona (Chloë Grace Moretz), a chaotic shapeshifter. Together, they embark on a journey to prove Ballister’s innocence while discovering more about each other. Watch the trailer below.
According to the film’s official logline,
A knight framed for a tragic crime teams with a scrappy, shape-shifting teen to prove his innocence. But what if she’s the monster he’s sworn to destroy?
Nimona is directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane. The voice cast includes Chloë Grace Moretz as Nimona, Riz Ahmed as Ballister Boldheart, and Eugene Lee Yang as Ambrosius Goldenloin. The film also features an original song called “T-Rex” by K. Flay, which captures Nimona’s energetic and powerful personality. The song holds personal significance for K. Flay, as it helped her overcome a challenging time in her life.
In an interview with Netflix Tudum, Grace Moretz said, “When we were first getting started, one of the things I spoke to the directors about was that they wanted high highs and low lows, almost an erratic amount of emotion and chaos.” Grace Moretz added, “And then when she’s quiet and still, it hits in a much more impactful way. It was a really interesting thing to play with.”
