Wedding Crashers 2 was set to begin production but ended up being delayed indefinitely after Owen Wilson reportedly abruptly backed out to do Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ instead.
Puck reported Owen Wilson’s commitment to Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ is gumming up the works. Wilson is due to arrive on the set of Disney’s latest attraction-based feature next month, which would make him unavailable for Wedding Crashers 2. Toby Emmerich and Richard Brener had worked hard to reunite director David Dobkin with Wilson and Vince Vaughn, as well as Rachel McAdams and Isla Fisher.
Wedding Crashers was released in 2005. The film is directed by David Dobkin and stars Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams, and Isla Fisher, among others. The film follows the exploits of two divorce mediators, John (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy (Vince Vaughn), who crash weddings to pick up women. They end up attending a high-society wedding and become entangled with the family of the bride, including her engaged sister (Rachel McAdams) and her unstable and flirtatious sister (Isla Fisher).
Wedding Crashers did well at the box office and with critics. It made more than $285 million worldwide and got mostly good reviews. People often say that this movie is one of the best comedies of the 2000s. It’s known for its witty humor, memorable lines, and the way Wilson and Vaughn play off each other.
