Wedding Crashers 2 Filming Has Been Delayed

Wedding Crashers 2 was set to begin production but ended up being delayed indefinitely after Owen Wilson reportedly abruptly backed out to do Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ instead.

Puck recently reported that “Warner Bros.’ New Line division has a few in production, though it had pulled the trigger on Wedding Crashers 2 last summer until Owen Wilson abruptly backed out to do Disney’s Haunted Mansion.”

In June 2021, Owen Wilson confirms that there were plans to develop Wedding Crashers 2. He said that a script was in place and that he’d been “talking about it” with director David Dobkin and Vince Vaughn. At that time, the sequel was not officially greenlit, though Wilson’s update on its progress seemed optimistic.


Wedding Crashers is described as an R-rated comedy film is directed by David Dobkin with Steve Faber and Bob Fisher’s script. The film follows two divorce mediators (Wilson and Vaughn) who crash weddings in an attempt to meet and seduce women. The film grossed $288.5 million against a $40 million budget.
