Netflix has officially confirmed that filming for Wednesday Season 3 has wrapped. According to the streamer, the “much-dreaded next chapter is creeping ever closer to your screens now that production has wrapped as of Sept. 30 — not-so-coincidentally, a Wednesday.”
On X, Netflix also officially shared the first-look image of Jenna Ortega, who returns as Wednesday Addams for the third season.
Season 3 will introduce suspicious new characters and spread its gloom to far-flung locations. Read on for hints as to what our scheming scribe is plotting next.
Production for Wednesday Season 3 took place in Dublin, Ireland, and Paris, France. Season 2 ended with Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday setting off with her Uncle Fester to rescue Enid, who was trapped as an alpha werewolf. Season 3 is expected to continue directly from these events, with Wednesday and Fester’s journey taking them to new locations.
Alfred Gough, co-creator and showrunner, said, “Television has — and always will be — a team sport.” Gough added, “[Co-creator and co-showrunner] Miles [Millar] and I have been doing this long enough to know that shows like this don’t come along every day. It’s such an alchemy of writing, directing, acting, crew, streamer, studio, and fans. We remain grateful and excited to continue this journey and tell these stories with all of our partners.”
What to Expect from Wednesday Season 3?
Wednesday Season 3 will push Wednesday Addams into new challenges and misadventures. The new season will also expand the world of Nevermore and reveal more secrets about the Addams family.
Gough said, “Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”
Millar added, “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!”

The existing cast returning for Wednesday Season 3 includes Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, among others.
New cast members joining the season include Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, James Lance, and Oliver Cunliffe.
In a statement, Gough and Millar said, “Eva Green has always brought an exhilarating, singular presence to the screen — elegant, haunting, and beautifully unpredictable. Those qualities make her the perfect choice for Aunt Ophelia. We’re excited to see how she transforms the role and expands Wednesday’s world.”
