The production of the second season of Marvel’s “What If…?” will not begin until 2024. Recent reports from a Twitter user (CanWeGetSomeToast) say that the “What If…?” season 2 release date has been pushed to 2024, and the new date is to be announced.
Why Was “What If…?” Season 2 Delayed Until Spring 2024?
The show was previously scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in early 2023, however, owing to the current state of development of other Marvel/Disney+ shows, “What If…?” season 2 has been pushed back. The series coming in spring 2023 is Loki season 2, Echo, Ironheart, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
What If…? is based on the Multiverse Saga, in which the heroes appear from various universes. The first season ended with episode 9, “What If… The Watcher Broke His Oath?” The Watcher formed the “Guardians of the Multiverse” heroes, featuring Captain Carter, Star-Lord T’Challa, Strange Supreme, Killmonger, Party Thor, and Black Widow. The team battles the Age of Ultron to save the multiverse. The show was created by A. C. Bradley for Disney+.
Wanda, The Winter Soldier, and The Red Guardian Will Appear in “What If…?” Season 2
It has been revealed that The Winter Soldier and Red Guardian will be featured in an episode of “What If…?” Season 2. Wanda Maximoff, who will be voiced by Elizabeth Olsen, will appear in the series. The Watcher, Captain Carter, Steve Rogers/HYDRA Stomper, Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Melina Vostokoff, Gamora, Tony Stark/Iron Man, En Dwi Gast/Grandmaster, Korg, Bruce Banner/Hulk, Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange, Thanos, Ego, Yondu Udonta, Thor, Hawkeye, Hope van Dyne/Wasp, Hank Pym, and Hela will also appear in “What If…?” Season 2.
According to CBR, Laurence Fishburne confirms Bill Foster will return in Marvel Studios’ What If…? — as Giant-Man, not Goliath.
“What If…?” Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ in Spring 2024.
