The home release of James Gunn‘s Superman has been revealed.
Superman will be available to buy or rent on digital HD platforms such as Amazon Prime Video (Bonus X-Ray Edition), iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV on August 15, 2025.
The DVD, 4K UHD, and Blu‑ray release date is set September 23, 2025, and pre-orders are now available on Amazon.

In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC Universe with a unique blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.
Superman must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice, and the human way, he soon finds himself in a world that views these ideals as old‑fashioned.
The film stars David Corenswet (Twisters, Hollywood) in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult (the X-Men movies, Juror #2) as Lex Luthor. The film also features Gathegi (The Harder They Fall), Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Gotham), Nathan Fillion (the Guardians of the Galaxy films, The Suicide Squad), Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus), Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza, Booksmart), Sara Sampaio (At Midnight), Gabriela de Faría (The Moodys), Wendell Pierce (Selma, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Alan Tudyk (Andor), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Bird Box), and Neva Howell (Greedy People).
DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn produced the film, which Gunn directed from his own screenplay, based on DC characters — with Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. It is the first film in the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
Superman was released by Warner Bros. Pictures in the United States on July 11. The film has grossed $579 million at the worldwide box office.
