A new update on the production of Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday has been revealed. It’s already confirmed that the X-Men cast members are returning, and we have a small spoiler.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, via his new Patreon post, the X-Men will wear comic-accurate suits in Avengers: Doomsday. The first schedule of scenes is currently being filmed at the X-Mansion.
Marvel has announced that several popular X-Men actors will return in Avengers: Doomsday, including Ian McKellen (Magneto), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), James Marsden (Cyclops), Channing Tatum (Gambit), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), and Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler).
In a recent interview, Anthony Mackie opened up about his excitement to begin working with the OG X-Men cast in Avengers: Doomsday.
Mackie said, “Growing up, X-Men was one of my favorite cartoons… Cyclops was my favorite! I’m excited we get to work with Sir Patrick Stewart — it’s gonna be pretty amazing.”
Mackie also says that Avengers: Doomsday will end with a cliffhanger: “No one is safe. Everyone is expendable.”
Recently, leaked set photos from the production of Avengers: Doomsday in London revealed mysterious statues and a crashed spaceship. Also, the Deadpool & Wolverine set is being rebuilt for use in the film.
Avengers: Doomsday will mark the beginning of the end for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). During CinemaCon 2025, Marvel President Kevin Feige confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will focus on the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and the original X-Men all uniting to fight Doctor Doom.
The film is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely.
