Pixar is developing new entries for the ‘Cars‘ franchise.
In a recent interview with Jonny Smith on The Late Brake Show, Pixar Creative Director Jay Ward confirmed that Pixar is actively developing new entries for the ‘Cars’ series.
Ward said, “The ‘Cars’ stuff is good; it’s a good question if there are more advancements in cars. Something is brewing, though I can’t quite say what yet.”
Ward added, “Cars have a life that will keep going.”
Ward continued, “I’m currently working on some really fun projects that you will see in the next couple of years.”
He added, “It takes us a while to make things, but the attention to detail is something I was going to say, and it’s a crucial aspect.”
Upcoming Pixar Movies:
It is already reported that Pixar is already working on a sequel to ‘Elemental‘ and a spin-off series for Disney+.
Back in February 2023, Disney officially announced the development of ‘Toy Story 5.’ Also, sequels to other Disney Animation/Pixar movies like ‘Inside Out 2,’ ‘Frozen III,’ and ‘Zootopia 2‘ are also in progress.
Cars is an animated film series and Disney franchise created by John Lasseter. Starting with the 2006 film Cars, produced by Pixar and released by Walt Disney Pictures, the series includes Cars 2 (2011) and Cars 3 (2017). The franchise also features the spin-off films Planes (2013) and Planes: Fire & Rescue (2014). With a total box office revenue of over $1.4 billion worldwide and merchandising sales surpassing $10 billion within its first five years, Cars has become a major success.
