Marvel Studios has hired Terry Matalas, showrunner and executive producer of Star Trek: Picard, to develop the new ‘Vision‘ series for Disney+.

In the show, Paul Bettany will return as White Vision, and it will “take place after the ‘WandaVision‘ events, as White Vision presumably explores his new purpose in life.” The series may come under the Marvel Spotlight banner.

Previously, the show was titled ‘Vision Quest,’ which was developed under ‘WandaVision’ creator Jac Schaeffer. But, it has been dropped, and the reason is unknown yet. Schaeffer has developed a separate ‘WandaVision’ spinoff, ‘Agatha All Along,’ starring Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness. It is set to premiere on September 18, 2024, with two episodes on Disney+.

Back in 2022, during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bettany said, “At the end of WandaVision, you see Vision fly off and that’s a loose end.” Bettany added, “And Kevin Feige (president of Marvel Studios) is a man who doesn’t really allow loose ends. So I assume at some point I will be putting on my tights and cloak for another outing, but I don’t know when that might be.”

According to reports, Earth-616 Elizabeth Olsen‘s Wanda is alive and will return to the MCU with the launch of the ‘Vision Quest’ spin-off series. Also, the ‘Scarlet Witch’ solo project is currently in development at Marvel Studios, although there have been no official announcements made regarding it.

Release Date:

The ‘Vision’ series will premiere on Disney+ in 2026, with the exact release date to be announced.
