Here’s the plot synopsis for Popeye horror movie:
“The legend of Popeye haunts a group of counselors — as they intend to open a summer camp.”
According to reports, the first trailer for the film will be released soon, along with an attached release date.
Popeye was created by E.C. Segar and made his first appearance in the 1929 comic strip Thimble Theatre. Although Thimble Theatre had been running for over a decade, Popeye’s immense popularity led to the strip being renamed after him—with the sailor becoming the central character. In 1933, Popeye’s fame grew further when he appeared in animated shorts produced by Max Fleischer. Over the years, the Popeye franchise expanded to include a wide range of cartoons, comic books, video games—and more. The iconic character was famously portrayed by Robin Williams in the 1980 film Popeye, where Shelley Duvall played Olive Oyl.
The Popeye horror movie is set to be released in January 2025.
