The filming for Scream 7 has officially begun in Atlanta, Georgia, as confirmed by director Kevin Williamson.
On Instagram, Williamson shared a post announcing that filming on Scream 7 kicked off today, with Tim Ives (Stranger Things) serving as cinematographer.
Williamson wrote:“I’m not supposed to post about Scream, and I hope Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures will forgive me, but when you have one of the best days of your life, it’s really hard to keep it to yourself. What an extraordinary day I had working with an amazing and talented cast and crew.”
He added: “They brought their ‘A’ game and had my back every step of the way. I’m so very grateful for this opportunity and to Wes Craven, who was on my mind through it all. The profound impact he has had on my life and career is endless. What a day! I can’t wait for tomorrow!”
The Scream franchise, created by Williamson, sees he returning to direct the seventh installment. Neve Campbell reprises her iconic role as Sidney Prescott, with a script penned by Guy Busick and James Vanderbilt.
Courteney Cox returns as Gale Weathers, joined by Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin. Newcomer Isabel May will portray Sidney’s daughter, while Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, and Anna Camp round out the cast in undisclosed roles.
Produced by Paramount Pictures, Radio Silence Productions, and Spyglass.
Scream 7 is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026, distributed by Paramount Pictures.
