(Note: This article contains major spoilers for Marvel’s Thunderbolts*.)
Marvel Studios has been hiding the costume of Lewis Pullman‘s The Sentry in Marvel’s Thunderbolts* since the wrap. The trailers and TV spots even showed the look of The Sentry, where they show him in the shadow and Void form.
Following the world premiere, the first look at Pullman’s The Sentry has been revealed. It is confirmed that in the end of the film, Bob loses his control and turns into the Void. A leaked image taken from the premiere shows The Sentry with a comic-accurate suit. It looks bright yellow and blue and wears a flowing blue cape. See the images below.

Speaking to Empire Magazine, Pullman said that his character Bob in Thunderbolts suffers from numerous Achilles’ heels—more than he has actual heels—including crippling anxiety and other mental health struggles. Also, he could, at any time, unleash the Void.

Pullman said, “Bob serves an interesting purpose, and I was discovering that along the way.” He added, “He is, in some ways, a vessel to learn about how these other outcasts deal with pressure, rejection, death, and loneliness. How do they deal with a bizarre problem like this?”

In the end of Thunderbolts*, in a crucial moment, the team enters the Void to help save Bob.

Directed by Jake Schreier and stars Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Pullman as Sentry, and Geraldine Viswanathan as Erin. Laurence Fishburne and Rachel Weisz are confirmed to reprise their roles as scientist Bill Foster and spy Melina Vostakov.
Here’s the synopsis for Thunderbolts*:
“In Thunderbolts*, Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap — set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine — these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart — or find redemption and unite as something much more — before it’s too late?”
Thunderbolts* is set to hit theaters across the United States in IMAX, RealD 3D, ScreenX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD, and other premium formats worldwide on May 2, 2025.
