Note: This article contains major spoilers for James Gunn‘s Superman.
James Gunn’s Superman had its world premiere in Los Angeles, and following the event, reviews are now out. The film is being described as a “powerful and promising start to the new DCU.” Also, Superman features two post-credits scenes — and details about them have leaked online.
Superman Post-Credits Scenes Detailed

Superman features two post-credits scenes. The first shows Superman (David Corenswet) with Krypto on the Moon, looking at Earth. Krypto is lying on Superman’s shoulder.

The second post-credits scene features Superman and Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi) looking at a giant crack in a massive building, caused by the ground splitting during the final battle. Superman comments, “It’s crooked,” which annoys Mister Terrific. He walks away angrily and kicks a rock. It’s a humorous moment.
According to early reviews, “Superman is exactly what you’d expect from a Gunn film — and a great start for the new DCU. There’s heart, comedy, awesome action sequences, and fun characters throughout. Corenswet plays Clark Kent/Superman spectacularly, bringing real humanity to the role. Krypto and Mister Terrific are absolute standouts.”
Superman is now tracking to open with $140M–$160M domestically on opening weekend and over $300M worldwide.
Here’s the logline from DC Studios for Superman: “In his signature style, Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”
The film stars Corenswet (Twisters, Hollywood) in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult (the X-Men movies, Juror #2) as Lex Luthor. The film also features Gathegi (The Harder They Fall), Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Gotham), Nathan Fillion (the Guardians of the Galaxy films, The Suicide Squad), Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus), Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza, Booksmart), Sara Sampaio (At Midnight), Gabriela de Faría (The Moodys), Wendell Pierce (Selma, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Alan Tudyk (Andor), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Bird Box), and Neva Howell (Greedy People).
DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn are producing the film, which Gunn is directing from his own screenplay, based on characters from DC — Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
Superman will have a duration of 2 hours and 9 minutes. The film will be released in theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025, and internationally beginning July 9, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
