A new look at Galactus (Ralph Ineson) in his giant form is revealed in Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps teaser, and it is confirmed that he wants Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and Sue Storm’s (Vanessa Kirby) son, Franklin Richards, in exchange for not attacking Earth-828.

In the teaser, a reporter asks Reed, “Can you tell us how you defeated Galactus?” Reed replies, “We attempted to negotiate, but Galactus… he asked too high a price. He asked for our child.” Watch the clip below.
In the leaked plot details of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, it is revealed that as the team prepares for the baby’s arrival, Shalla-Bal (Julia Garner) arrives with a warning. The team decides to go into space with her — she takes them to Galactus, who is aboard a massive ship consuming a planet. Galactus agrees to spare Earth — but only in exchange for their child. The team refuses — and battles Shalla-Bal.
In the recent first 30-minute screening of Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps at a fan event in Brazil, reports revealed that the plot appears to revolve around Sue (Vanessa Kirby) and Franklin Richards. Here’s the plot details for The Fantastic Four: First Steps:
Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm / Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm / Human Torch (Quinn), and Ben Grimm / The Thing (Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet — and everyone on it — weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters and IMAX on July 25, 2025.
