Words + Pictures (the studio behind Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, The Kingdom, and Celtics City) is developing a new documentary centered on Chadwick Boseman, focusing on his impactful career, life, and legacy.
The documentary is expected to be announced soon, though it has not yet been confirmed whether it will move to streaming or premiere elsewhere. Additionally, the length and format (film or series) have not been disclosed.
According to a report from The Boardwalk Times, “Boseman’s status as a Disney Legend makes us believe Disney+/Hulu will certainly be in the mix.”

Boseman was a legendary and beloved actor, best known for portraying iconic real-life figures such as Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get On Up, and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall. He is most famous for his role as T’Challa/Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which earned him numerous award nominations throughout his career. He passed away in 2020 after a four-year private battle with colon cancer.
Words + Pictures, founded by former ESPN executive and 30 for 30 co-creator Connor Schell, specializes in producing high-quality, story-driven documentary projects.
