Black Panther 3 is reportedly in development at Marvel Studios.
According to the production list, Black Panther 3 is titled Shadows of Wakanda, and filming is expected to begin on June 15, 2026, in London.
Ryan Coogler, who directed Black Panther and its sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is returning to direct the third movie. As per the synopsis, “Black Panther 3: Shadows of Wakanda explores Wakanda’s vulnerability after T’Challa’s death, with Shuri stepping up as both warrior and leader.“
Recently, in a podcast, Coogler revealed that he’s writing a very specific role for Denzel Washington.
Coogler said, “Denzel is family at this point.” He added, “I’ve been trying to work with him since day one. I think he’s the greatest living actor. In terms of what he means to our culture — forget about it, man.”
As per reports, Marvel Studios is rumored to be planning to recast T’Challa for the upcoming Avengers films and Black Panther 3. Damson Idris is reportedly in talks with Marvel to become the next Black Panther.

According to Marvel scooper MyTimeToShineHello, a second Black Panther will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. Letitia Wright is the current Black Panther in the MCU, while the second Black Panther will originate from the X-Men universe in Doomsday.
The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Nate Moore.
Black Panther 3 (Shadows of Wakanda) will hit theaters in 2028.
