John Wick star Keanu Reeves’ new sci-fi thriller Shiver, directed by Tim Miller, has had its release date revealed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film reportedly follows a smuggler stuck in a time loop at sea, fighting off sharks, pirates, and more.
According to Warner Bros., Shiver will hit theaters on August 13, 2027. Ian Schorr (Infinite) wrote the script, which has been described as a hybrid of Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows.

Here are the plot details for Shiver:
Word is the story centers on a shady smuggler (Reeves) who gets caught in the middle of a deadly double-cross during a job in the Caribbean, leaving him surrounded by bodies, hostile mercenaries, and circling sharks. Soon after, he finds himself trapped in a lethal time loop and scrambling to break the cycle.
Reeves recently starred in two films that underperformed at the box office, Ballerina and Good Fortune. Looking ahead, he has two releases planned for 2026, Outcome and The Entertainment System Is Down, along with upcoming projects such as Constantine 2, BRZRKR, and a new thriller with Sandra Bullock.
Meanwhile, director Tim Miller has been drawn into the Blake Lively–Justin Baldoni court case. His departure from Deadpool 2 followed reported creative interference by Ryan Reynolds, a situation Miller is now expected to address publicly.
The film will be produced by Matthew Vaughn via his Marv Films banner, with Aaron Ryder (Arrival, The Prestige) serving as a co-producer.
