Billy Clements, who plays Ramrod in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has revealed that many of Ramrod’s scenes were cut from the final version of the film.
On Instagram, Clements thanked Spidey fans and Marvel Studios for making him part of Brand New Day and shared some BTS images. He said, “A lot of Ramrod’s stuff was cut, but when they had to cut out 3 hours…” Also, he revealed that several well-known actors were completely removed from the movie during editing.
To prepare for the role, Clements studied Ramrod’s comic book appearances and trained for two hours a day. Following the cuts, he said he was grateful to appear in the final theatrical release.

Speaking to Nerdtropolis, director Destin Daniel Cretton revealed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day was originally planned to feature a major battle involving multiple classic Spider-Man villains. The large-scale fight sequence was ultimately cut from the final version of the film. The villains had already received finished designs. He hopes to potentially reuse them in the next film.
In an interview with Quotable, Tom Holland revealed that he and the filmmakers were unhappy with an early cut of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He said the first version of the film “totally didn’t work.”
Holland said, “They took all of the notes from the test screenings, and then they changed the movie… It totally didn’t work. It was what the people were asking for, but it wasn’t quite what we wanted as the creatives.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
