Paramount Pictures has released a new clip from the Street Fighter movie featuring Jason Momoa‘s Blanka and Andrew Koji‘s Ryu as they prepare for battle.
The clip opens with a prison riot inside a high-security prison, where Ryu is seen injured in an orange prison uniform. As the fight gets bigger, a fighter is thrown across the prison before Blanka uses his electric powers. The trailer ends with the first full look at Momoa’s Blanka, ready to fight Ryu.
According to the reported plot leak, Momoa’s Blanka is one of the famous fighters who enters the World Warrior Tournament. He is revealed to be one of the fighters who has been modified through secret experiments as part of M. Bison’s plan to create an army of super-powered warriors under his control.
Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament—a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind the tournament lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and confront the demons of their past. If they fail, it’s GAME OVER!
