Marvel Studios is reportedly bringing back two iconic characters in the opening scene of Avengers: Doomsday. According to a leak, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will fight during an incursion in Maguire’s Spider-Man universe.
It is reported that, “Tobey Maguire will have 3 minutes of screen time in the opening scene. Deadpool, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Magneto facing off against Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Doctor Octopus, and Green Goblin.”

In a recent plot leak, there are rumors that the Avengers: Doomsday post-credits scene features Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man surviving the incursions with their memories intact, leading into Avengers: Secret Wars.

“Universes collide, and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. According to Box Office Theory, Avengers: Doomsday has already sold 92% of The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ entire preview ticket sales and is reportedly tracking 67% ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on its second day of tracking. If the pace continues, $100M+ in previews and a potential $400M opening weekend could be possible. The film is now on track for a $1 billion+ worldwide opening.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theaters across the United States on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for release on December 17, 2027.
