New VisionQuest Image Teases a Showdown Between Paladin and White Vision

The first look at Todd Stashwick as the assassin Paladin in Marvel Television’s VisionQuest series has been revealed.

On Instagram, Stashwick shared a new still from the series featuring Paladin alongside Paul Bettany’s White Vision. The image shows White Vision holding Paladin by the throat, teasing a confrontation between the two characters. VisionQuest will bring Paladin into the MCU as a new threat for White Vision, who is searching for answers about his identity and memories.

In the official trailer for VisionQuest, Marvel teased the full look of Stashwick’s Paladin. Fans got to see Paladin’s comic-accurate purple costume, including his tactical gear and weapons. See it below.

In a recent interview with Rotten Tomatoes, VisionQuest showrunner Terry Matalas praised the series’ cast. He specifically praised Stashwick, who plays Paladin, describing the character as “sort of the MCU’s bounty hunter.”

Matalas said, “T’Nia Miller, who plays what will be one of the MCU’s standout characters. Todd Stashwick, who plays Paladin, who is sort of the MCU’s bounty hunter. We have an incredible cast. And, last but certainly not least, Ruaridh Mollica, who plays Tommy.”

Matalas previously teased Paladin’s role in VisionQuest by comparing the character to one of Star Wars’ most famous bounty hunters. He described Paladin as “sort of the Boba Fett of the Marvel Universe.”

“Paladin is a bounty hunter. He’s sort of the Boba Fett of the Marvel Universe. And so, that is what we’ve been doing for the last seven months.”

VisionQuest will conclude the TV trilogy launched with WandaVision. The series will explore “intergenerational digital trauma.” The ending of VisionQuest “feels like the beginning of something for a new kind of Vision.”

Speaking to SFX Magazine, Matalas said he has several ideas for multiple seasons of VisionQuest.

“The second we wrapped [Season 1], Paul [Bettany], James [Spader], and I were immediately ready to go into 10 more seasons of whatever this could be. But that’s up to Marvel Studios and the television gods as to what happens.”

Here’s the synopsis for VisionQuest:

“When ‘VisionQuest’ begins, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.”

The cast of VisionQuest includes Paul Bettany as Vision, James Spader as Ultron, Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff/Speed and Thomas Shepherd, Todd Stashwick as Paladin, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, Lauren Morais as Lisa Molinari, Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., Diane Morgan as an associate of Paladin, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E, Jonathan Sayer as U, Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., and James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S. Faran Tahir also reprises his role as Raza, with Cristian Lavin and Mary McDonnell appearing in undisclosed roles.

The series is directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, Terry Matalas, and written by Terry Matalas, Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti, and Matthew Okumura.

VisionQuest premieres October 14, 2026, on Disney+, with the eight-episode series officially included in Phase Six of the MCU.
