Marvel Television’s ‘VisionQuest’ First 22 Minutes Previewed at SDCC Málaga, Description Revealed (SPOILERS)

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Marvel’s VisionQuest.

A preview of Marvel Television’s VisionQuest was shown at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026.

The Marvel Studios panel at SDCC Málaga began with the first 22 minutes of the first episode of VisionQuest, followed by a discussion with Paul Bettany about his collaboration with the series’ cast.

Following the 22-minute preview of the first episode, some important spoilers have reportedly surfaced. Here’s what has been revealed:

VisionQuest begins with a montage of Vision’s life up to this point, with several scenes featuring Wanda accompanied by loud screams from the audience.

Vision tells the bar girl that Wanda was crushed by the weight of a mountain.

VisionQuest AIs are beginning to emerge.

When the fake Vision touches Vision, he leaves behind a copy of Wanda as well. Vision watches scenes featuring Wanda inside his head and repeatedly revisits them. F.R.I.D.A.Y., Tony Stark’s AI assistant, tells him that he is trying to understand what the original Vision felt.

The characters begin passing around secret S.W.O.R.D. files containing scenes from WandaVision, specifically the moment when Wanda asks Vision if he doesn’t want to know their son as he is. Vision becomes furious while watching the footage.

Ultron is the one who “orders” Vision to watch these scenes.

Vision tells Ultron that he is not chasing Wanda’s ghost but rather trying to understand Vision and how he fits into the world.

At the VisionQuest promotional panel, Bettany praised his co-star Emily Hampshire, who plays E.D.I.T.H., describing her as “just delicious as Edith” and “maybe the funniest person I’ve ever met in my life.” He also praised the entire VisionQuest ensemble, saying the production was “blessed with a great cast.”

Bettany said, “Who is just delicious as Edith, and maybe the funniest person I’ve ever met in my life. Just in her bones funny. And, you know, of course we have James, who I first worked with when we were kids, really, back in Master and Commander. Outside of the world. Please get some noise for Master and Commander.”

Bettany added, “And, you, I mean, the entire… we were blessed with a great cast, and everybody seems that… I think when everybody understands what the tone of a show is—and this is a particularly difficult, weird tone to understand—but if you can get that, like everybody understands the tone, then you can fly. And I mean, I think the same people have so much fun on it. Yeah. And the risk of being that nerfed…”

The series is directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, Terry Matalas, and written by Terry Matalas, Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti, and Matthew Okumura.

Here’s the synopsis for VisionQuest:

Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.”
