New exclusive promotional art for Avengers: Doomsday has been revealed through the Marvel Snap game.
Marvel Snap has collaborated with Avengers: Doomsday to release promotional artwork featuring a burned-down X-Mansion, with the wreckage of a Sentinel lying in front of it.
Another piece of artwork features Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom seated on his throne, Wyatt Russell’s John Walker wielding his shield, and an incursion in which two worlds collide. The artwork also shows Doctor Doom, James Marsden‘s Cyclops, and Vanessa Kirby‘s Sue Storm using their powers.
The Marvel Snap cards reportedly reference Avengers: Doomsday and feature five character pairings that could hint at potential team-ups in the film:
- Sam Wilson and Nightcrawler
- M’Baku and The Thing
- Mister Fantastic and Beast
- Gambit and Shang-Chi
- Invisible Woman and Namor
We have also recently received an update about Doctor Doom’s family. According to the latest reports, Doom’s wife will be named Valeria, while their son will be named Malachi. Both reportedly died in an accident.
In an interview with Fandango, Joe Russo revealed that the creative team approaches the fight sequences in Avengers: Doomsday like kids playing with toys. The filmmakers use action figures and toys to brainstorm potential matchups and figure out which battles would be the most exciting to watch.
Russo said, “That’s part of the fun. I mean, we’re like kids with toys. When we start thinking about sequences like that, we literally have toys and go, ‘Wow, who would it be? Who’s most compelling to fight who? What would be the most fun to watch? What do we want to see? What do the fans want to see?’
And so, it’s a lot of comic book nerds who all work on the movie together, just excited about trying to find a way to bring these things to life for the audience.”
