‘The White Lotus’ Season 2 Contains Tons of Nudity
According to Theo James, ‘The White Lotus’ Season 2 was first filmed with too much nudity. The scenes were cut during post-production. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, James told creator Mike White originally had something even more NSFW in mind. “The initial version we shot was way too much,” James said of a particularly steamy moment in Episode 5. “So, we did a more subtle version. They toned it down.”
“There’s a purpose to it,” James added of his character’s nudity. “It’s interesting, [because] at first…we don’t know whether it’s deliberate or if it’s accidental. But it reveals itself.”
According to HBO, The White Lotus is a sharp social satire following the exploits of various employees and guests at an exclusive Hawaiian resort over the span of one highly transformative week. As darker dynamics emerge with each passing day, the six-episode first season gradually reveals the complex truths of the seemingly picture-perfect travelers, cheerful hotel employees, and idyllic locale itself.
