A Bane and Deathstroke team-up movie is in development at DC Studios and is part of James Gunn’s DCU.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bane and Deathstroke are being targeted for a team-up movie. The script is being written by Matthew Orton, who worked on Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World and is being developed under Gunn and Peter Safran‘s leadership at DC Studios.
As of now, no director has been attached to the project, but an announcement from DC Studios is expected soon. We already have a live-action Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie by Zack Snyder. Who will play Bane and Deathstroke? No actors have been cast for the roles yet.
In DC Comics, Bane is one of Batman’s most formidable and intelligent adversaries. Born and raised in a harsh prison on the fictional Caribbean island of Santa Prisca—Bane’s early life was shaped by violence and survival. Created by writer Chuck Dixon and artist Graham Nolan in the early 1990s, Bane first appeared in Batman: Vengeance of Bane #1 (1993). In live-action adaptations, Jeep Swenson played Bane in Batman & Robin (1997)—and Tom Hardy portrayed Bane in The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
Deathstroke—whose actual name is Slade Wilson—is one of the most iconic villains in the DC Comics universe and a formidable adversary to heroes like Batman and the Teen Titans. Deathstroke was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez, first appearing in Teen Titans #2 in 1980. He is a brilliant strategist and tactician—often using his intellect to outmaneuver opponents. Manu Bennett played Deathstroke in the Arrow TV series in live-action, while Joe Manganiello portrayed Deathstroke in a brief appearance in Justice League (2017).
The release date for the Bane and Deathstroke movie has not yet been revealed.
