Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the film rights to Elizabeth Rose Quinn’s unpublished novel, “Follow Me.” Deadline also confirmed that Adele Lim (Joyride, Crazy Rich Asians) will write and direct the film adaptation of the dark thriller for Amazon MGM.
What is “Follow Me” About?
According to the dark thriller novel, it is described as “Heathers” meets “The Stepford Wives” at a mommy influencer retreat in Northern California. It’s a propulsive and witty novel, mixed with the scary social-commentary edge of “Black Mirror.”
The source also confirms that Megha Parekh at Amazon Publishing has acquired the novel rights in a preempt for publication in 2025.
Produced by Kroll & Co. under the banner’s first-look deal with the studio, with Lim and Naia Cucukov also negotiating to produce. Chelsea Bradshaw and Jessica Pugh are overseeing the project for Kroll & Co.
The deal marks the beginning of 100 Tigers, a new production company formed by Lim and Cucukov. Lim’s credits include “Joyride,” “Crazy Rich Asians,” and “Raya and the Last Dragon,” while Cucukov has worked on “The Baby-Sitters Club” and “Manhunt.” The duo stated that their new company aims to support female-forward, cross-cultural stories with global appeal and a glossy edge. “Follow Me” will be the first project that 100 Tigers has set at a studio. The team has several projects in the development pipeline that they’ll announce when the time is right.
Filming for “Follow Me” will commence this fall. There is no update on the release date yet.
