She previously had a fuller body and face, but now the Euphoria star looks more beautiful and has undergone a complete physical transformation. Her recent weight loss has sparked online speculation, with some fans linking it to Ozempic, while others believe the weight loss is natural.
When the Euphoria series was released, Ferreira faced a lot of body shaming. Now, everyone is surprised by her new look. Barbie has not commented on her transformation, choosing instead to focus on her career and privacy.
Back in 2020—in an interview with Vogue—Ferreira said that her way of fighting discrimination was through normality: “There are many people who have spoken about these issues for years—whether it’s about non-normative bodies, trans, queer, etc. For me, as a teenager, shouting slogans against fatphobia from the top of the mountain was not something that worked for me at all.”
She said, “Because I have a larger body than other people, I get asked about body positivity no matter what I do—and I don’t need to. It doesn’t help normalize things. Coming into an industry that has historically had very rigid beauty standards, people have always seen me as a body positivity activist, and I’ve embraced that from the start. But over the years, I’ve found my own version of the movement, and it’s not all about size.”
Barbie Ferreira Will Not Appear in Euphoria Season 3
In 2023, Ferreira confirmed that she would not reprise her role as Kat Hernandez in Euphoria Season 3, explaining that it was a “mutual decision” to leave because her storyline had run its course.
“I don’t think there was a place for [Kat] to go,” Ferreira said. “I think there were places she could have gone. I just don’t think it would have fit into the show. I don’t know if it would have done her justice, and I think both parties knew that. I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend. I don’t want to play that, and I think they didn’t want that either.”
