The brand-new look at Marvel’s Thunderbolts* has been revealed by Entertainment Weekly.
During the interview with EW, Julia Louis-Dreyfus describes the Thunderbolts movie as a “completely different beast” compared to her previous MCU cameos. The film offers an opportunity to deeply explore Val’s character and backstory. Louis-Dreyfus explains that Val is fully committed and determined to succeed, and viewers will see her plan unfold with many twists and turns. The movie is filled with mystery, suspense, and surprises. Louis-Dreyfus also describes the film’s vibe as “groovy.”
Louis-Dreyfus says, “This movie’s a real opportunity for me to explore the Val character. You really get to know what she’s made of, and even a lot of her backstory. She’s in it to win it.” She adds, “You’re going to see her entire plan unfold,” confirming with a smile. “It has a lot of mystery to it, and there are some twists and turns that you don’t see coming, which are the best kind. There’s a lot of suspense, which is very groovy.”
Directed by Jake Schreier and stars Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, and Geraldine Viswanathan as Erin. Laurence Fishburne and Rachel Weisz are confirmed to reprise their roles as scientist Bill Foster and spy Melina Vostakov.

Thunderbolts* will hit theaters on May 2, 2025, in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD, and premium screens worldwide.
