Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Brave New World‘ has begun reshoots in Atlanta, Georgia, as confirmed by the City of Grantville Public Records.
The reshoots are planned due to the film receiving a negative response during internal test screenings. According to reports, some major scenes will be added, with newly hired writer Matthew Orton penning the additional content.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Anthony Mackie describes ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ as ‘a clear reset’.
Mackie said, “This movie is a clear reset. It really reestablishes the idea of what this universe is and what this universe is going to be.” Mackie added, “I think with these movies, you’re getting a clear, new branding of what Marvel is headed towards the same way they did with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
Directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. The film stars Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres/Falcon, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/Leader, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph/Sabra, and Xosha Roquemore. In the film, Mackie’s character, Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, will wear a new stealth suit inspired by Steve Rogers’ outfit from Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Marvel President Kevin Feige compares ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ to ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’. He said, “It is a relatively grounded action thriller.” Feige added that the film will be a “grounded action thriller.”
The film is produced by Feige, Nate Moore, and Malcolm Spellman.
