Brie Larson will return as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday. Although Larson’s casting has not yet been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios, the full cast is expected to be revealed during San Diego Comic-Con 2025 in July.
According to Daniel Richtman in a post on his Patreon, “Captain Marvel’s spaceship is reportedly being constructed on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. Filming for scenes involving the ship is scheduled to take place next month at Great Windsor Park in the United Kingdom.”
Avengers: Doomsday is currently filming in Bahrain. Marvel Studios recently applied for permission through All Time Productions Ltd UK to film at Windsor Great Park for a period of six months. As previously reported, the set is built in a 1960s-themed house, referred to as the “Luke Cage House,” with a spaceship attached.
During the Disney Merch Conference, an attendee exclusively told us that Avengers: Doomsday will feature new costumes for Shuri, Namor, and M’Baku. The X-Men costumes are reportedly comic-accurate. Additionally, Deadpool is said to appear in the movie, while the “Void”—a multi-dimensional prison—will play a major role in the film.
Directed by Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator, Stephen McFeely. Newton Thomas Sigel will be the cinematographer.
Marvel President Kevin Feige revealed at CinemaCon 2025 that Avengers: Doomsday will focus on the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, the New Avengers (Thunderbolts), and the original X-Men all uniting to fight Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.).
Marvel announced the official cast members of the film: Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost. Ian McKellen as Magneto, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing), and Lewis Pullman as Sentry.
