Netflix has released the first trailer for Jaume Collet-Serra‘s Carry-On, an airport-based action film starring Taron Egerton, Jason Bateman, and Danielle Deadwyler. The movie will be available for streaming on December 13th. Watch the trailer below.
What is the Plot of Carry-On?
Carry-On follows a young TSA agent (Egerton) who must outsmart a mysterious traveler (Bateman) after being blackmailed into allowing a dangerous package onto a Christmas Eve flight.
Directed by Collet-Serra from a screenplay by T.J. Fixman and Michael Green, the film marks the first collaboration between Netflix and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners, a partnership announced in 2021. Dylan Clark serves as the producer, while executive producers include Collet-Serra, Holly Bario, Brian Williams, Seth William Meier, and Scott Greenberg.

The film stars Egerton (known for Rocketman and Kingsman), Bateman (Ozark), Sofia Carson (Purple Hearts), Deadwyler (The Harder They Fall and the upcoming The Piano Lesson), Sinqua Walls (Friday Night Lights and White Men Can’t Jump), Logan Marshall-Green (Lou and Upgrade), Theo Rossi (Emily the Criminal and Sons of Anarchy), Josh Brener (Old Dads and Silicon Valley), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad and Unfrosted), Tonatiuh (Angelyne and Promised Land), Curtiss Cook (West Side Story and The Devil You Know), Joe Williamson (Ford v Ferrari and Lucy in the Sky), and Gil Perez-Abraham (The Batman and Killer Among Us).
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Egerton teased his character’s mindset at the point when viewers meet him in Carry-On.
Egerton said, “He’s unhappy at work at the airport and feeling flat and dejected about it.” Egerton added, “He’s also just found out his girlfriend is pregnant, so he feels pressure to be a responsible father and provider. However, he also feels a deep lack of fulfillment. When he’s put in this terrible situation, he has a huge opportunity to rise to the occasion.”
