Chris Evans has confirmed that his return to the MCU is not confirmed.
Evans recently addressed reports of the original Avengers returning to the MCU, stating, “No one’s spoken to me about it.”
Early this month, Variety reported that Marvel is in discussions about reuniting the original cast for a new ‘Avengers’ movie, with the possibility of bringing back Iron Man and Black Widow.
Speaking to The Wrap, Evans says “no one’s spoken” to him about returning for a new ‘Avengers’ movie. He said, “You know, I always see those reports too, and it’s news to me.” Evans added, “I think every couple of months, someone says that they’re getting Downey, Hemsworth, and Scarlet Johansson, and everyone’s coming back!” He confirmed that “no one’s spoken to me about it.”
Is Chris Evans Ready to Make a Comeback to the MCU?
Regarding the potential return of Steve Rogers/Captain America to the MCU, Chris Evans stated, “I would never say never, but I really—I’m very protective. It’s a very precious role to me, so it would have to be just right.”
In ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ Captain America went back in time to return the Infinity Stones and chose to live a life with Peggy Carter in the past. Upon his return, he appeared as an old man who passed on his shield to Sam Wilson. It’s important to note that the Time Variance Authority (TVA) could potentially recruit him and other prime versions of heroes to face various Kangs, including Tobey Maguire‘s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine.
Disney has recently made updates to its database of upcoming movie releases, providing access to the most current release dates.
